We had the BEST experiences in Munich! We arose early to start our city tour. As we were passing the Allianz Arena, Dr Jeff Jensen mentioned that FC Bayern had a home game. We casually mentioned it to Elena, our tour director, and she said we ought to go! In the next hour, we had figured out that 14 of of the 38 of us would go to the game in the evening instead of out to dinner.
We toured BMW world, Nymphenberg Castle, Marienplatz, City tour etc before heading to Dachau. It was a special experience to visit Dachau with one of my former LPHS students, Matt Healey, the grandson of one of the American soldiers who helped to liberate the camp in 1945.
After Dachau, we headed back downtown Munich. Fourteen of us took the subway to the Allianz Arena where we watched an incredibly exciting soccer game!!!! It was a highlight of our trip! A surreal experience!
