Here we go again! The 2012 School Year Begins!

Taylor and kids at our school open house

 Here We Go Again!
Austin, Taylor and Jaxson on their first day of school
It's like Christmas Eve for moms:  back to school for the kids!  We have three kids in school all day this year.  After school, they arrived home to their traditional candy bar posters from mom:

Tanner and Anne's Wedding

In 1999, when Dave and I tied the knot, there was a car, decorated with ketchup, dead bats, shaving cream and all sorts of creepy stuff, enthusiastically painted by my brothers and one cousin in particular:  Tanner!  Last weekend, we joined him and his family up at the Cedar Hills Golf Club for a wedding celebration.  Surrounded by family, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening with spectacular views and laughs to last a lifetime.

Kicking Off Football Season 2012

Austin, our team-sports lover, has been looking forward to this football season since last fall! I know, I know:  contact sports for young boys- not all favorable and very debatable, yet our kid LOVES it!  And his dad is the coach.  What a season this will be.

At the Caveman Kick Off, Coach Dave had to go to the go to the dunk tank after the scrimmage.

Surgery for Alyssa!

Last spring, while at our pediatrician's office for an ear infection check, it was discovered that Alyssa's right ear drum had a hole in it.  And it needed to be repaired sooner than later.  Baby girl and I went to the hospital so she could have a paper patch put over the hole.  She did an amazing job!  I was so proud of her.  Here's to a month-long recovery!
A few days after her surgery, Poppie and Grandma Barbie come over to see their girl.  Alyssa had a blast covering 6'7 Poppie with pillows.  Delightful moments-

Smelly lake, great food, and the best company a girl could ask for!

Concernt Night at Red Butte Gardens: Colbie Colleit and Gavin DeGraw

Meredith called to see if I wanted to attend a concert with her.  We went to one of the most beautiful settings in SLC called Red Butte Gardens.  We heard Gavin DeGraw and Colbie Colleit, ate yummy salads and watched all of the interesting people around us.  Great times with one of my favorite people on the planet.

Prayers Were Answered...for something seemingly small and insignificant

Last Christmas, Taylor got her dream present:  and iPod Touch!  Four months later, it was lost not to be found.  I combed through and under every piece of furniture, went through each toy and bookshelf and even checked our food storage.  It has really bothered me that it became lost, especially since I pride myself on being organized and non-cluttered.

This summer, as I began to think about Christmas, I became more and more upset about Taylor's missing iTouch.  I prayed and prayed to find it, knowing that I was praying for something unimportant but somehow a little important to me.

A few weeks later, while we were in the living room, Taylor was on one of our big chairs and put her hand down in the crease between the bottom and side liners (which I had done on several occasions).  She started to scream as she pulled out her iTouch!  We were so happy!
And so the friends and family pictures have begun!  Here is my budding photographer, photographing the things most important to her:
