Fun in Idaho

After the reunion, Jaxson and Alyssa spent some time in Idaho while we (Dave, Jody, and Taylor) went on Trek to Martin's Cove in Wyoming.  Austin was blessed to be with Grandma Barbie so he could attend his soccer practices.  Here are the pictures sent my Ginger:

Brendon Jentzsch's Missionary Farewell

The morning after we returned home from the reunion, we went to Eagle Mountain for Brendon's missionary farewell.  We love him so much!  He is the greatest young man and will make an incredible missionary in Puerto Rico!

Hatch Family Reunion: Celebrating 50 Years!

Our 4 days in Bear Lake will go down in the Hatch Family records as some of the most special days our family has ever experienced together.  With mom and dad celebrating their golden anniversary in 2017, we wanted to do something special with all of us.  Mom and Dad ended up renting a luxury cabin with 8 bedrooms at The Reserve just outside of Fish Haven.  The views were spectacular and the cabin was pure luxury. Prior to the reunion, we divided out the meals to each family so we wouldn't have to be cooking the entire time.
Ginger and I a great job of preparing things to do for the reunion (if I do humbly say so).  We had so many great things planned...yet let everyone know that they could do what they wanted too!  It worked perfectly because we all wanted to hang out together anyway.  We had the Hatch Family Wimbleton Tennis Tournament, paddle boarding, jet skis, crafts, a service project, family pictures, swimming, board games, Minute to Win it, raspberry shake runs, and family time after dinner each night where we got to hear a spiritual thought from dad and have a little more fun together.
All 7 children, their spouses, and 26 grandchildren all wrote letters to mom and dad expressing what their lives and marriage meant to them.  I worked for 3 days straight to finish the book....and it turned out beautifully!   In fact, it turned out so nice, most of the siblings ordered a copy for themselves too.
We are grateful for mom and dad's example and the love/service they give to each of their children.  The in-laws in the family all say that we are independent as couples yet we have each others' backs.  Mom and Dad really raised us to cleave to our spouses and families, to focus our energies on serving God while raising our families.
Here's to 50 years!  #foreverfamily
