Christmas Break 2022

First, I got sick the day after Christmas.  Just worn down, probably, but I spent 2-3 days in bed instead of skiing and having fun. And I didn't care.

Jaxson- talked Dave into letting him replace the door nobs and hinges in our home (for pay, of course). We LOVE the new look. Jaxson is a go-getter and isn't afraid of hard work. He set up Jody Jr 2nd and Moppin' Jody (my new iRobots) so our house is sparking clean all of the time.  This boy is just incredible and I love him dearly.

Fireplace = Holy Place.  In the winter, we gather in the evenings and into the night by the warm fireplace and have incredible conversations with our children. It makes the cold winters warm. While I love the warmth of spring, heat of summer, and coolness of fall, those seasons mean our family doesn't stop to get warm by the fireplace so these long conversations aren't as cozy and long.

The "Controversial" Head Scratcher.  One of my favorite colleagues, Kristy Tung (Chinese teacher) gave me a Chinese head scratcher she found. I think it is the greatest invention, 2nd to the iRobot of course, but not everyone feels the same. The boys had Dave going one night until we were in tears.

Merry Christmas To All and To All a Goodnight!

The magic of Christmas never dies. Even our teenagers were all in. We had a wonderful Christmas morning together. I loved receiving Jody Jr 2nd and Mopping Jody from Dave and the kids.  One of the best Christmas surprises!

After opening presents, we went to church for the sacrament and a lovely meeting filled with Christmas music. Grandma Barbie and Poppie joined us for our traditional Christmas Fondue Dinner (cheese and meat) followed by talks near the fireplace.

It was kind of hard to wrap up the night. Dave and Alyssa followed Grandma and Poppie home to make certain they arrived safely there.  Then we sat by the fire talking about how wonderful it was to have all of our children home under one roof again. We can see a new chapter of college, marriage, inlaws, grandchildren around the corner which is so exciting. Yet for now, we are embracing this season of our family and are simply grateful for each minute together.

We feel so blessed to have our family together on this special day and are grateful for our Savior who made it all possible.

Christmas Eve 2022

Tradition was broken this year with our Lindsay Family Christmas Party being moved to Cheri's house in Saratoga Springs to accommodate the Bob Lindsay family joining us.

We ate a turkey and ham dinner which tasted good.

Dave brought new excitement to the night with the Saran Wrap Ball game where he wrapped up $120 dollars and another $80 worth of candy into a saran wrap ball that took our family over an hour to unwrap. The experience was a hit!  We ended with presents before driving home to read from Luke 2, watch Home Alone 2, and then get all of the kids down for the night.
