“Concrete jungle where dreams are made of, hello Chicago.”
On Monday, Nov 13th, Rachel McFarland and I flew to Chicago to attend 2 conferences, NADSFL and ACTFL. We stayed at the Hilton next to the McCormick Center, took Ubers down to the Magnificent Mile for fabulous food, and took a boat tour on a river that winds throughout the concrete jungle of skyscrapers. We networked and learned a lot.
A few days into our trip, 15 of my colleagues flew to meet us and attend ACTFL with us. After the conference each night, we also took Ubers downtown for yummy dinners, saw HAMILTON, went to the Christkindlmarkt two nights, and ate deep dish pizza. We had the BEST time learning together, talking in the lobby until midnight, and planning what our next steps would be.
I feel so fortunate to be in my current role and assignment. It is provided me with invaluable opportunities and the ability to rub shoulders with incredible educators and leaders.
