Saturday Night at the Lindsay Home

This past Saturday, things were hoppin' around 8:30pm in our home. Dave and Jaxson, who were watching football, fell asleep. Here is where I found them!
I found Taylor and Austin holding hands in bed, asleep.....

Soccer Saturday!

For the past 7 weeks, we have spent our Saturday mornings (and when I say "mornings", I mean 8:00 am and on) at one of the soccer fields in Cedar Hills! It has been a blast to watch the kids play and progress. Here are some pictures of the fun!

Go Taylor!
Austin is anxious to play. He still has two more years. Don't know how we'll make it!

You might find it entertaining to learn that Dave had to bribe Jaxson a few weeks ago with gum to get in and kick the ball! It worked! Instead of picking his nose and studying the people on the sidelines, he actually ran after the ball, kicking! :)

Brothers, Boys, Best Friends

The other day, I asked Austin, "Son, isn't it great to have a brother and a best friend?" Austin replied, "Yeah, Jaxson my best friend.....and daddy too!"

The following are some pictures of my boys!

And The Baby Is A.......?

I have been telling my husband that I want to wait until delivery to learn the gender of our baby. As the ultrasound approached, he began to emotionally "bully" me with phrases like, "Jody, do you REALLY want to wait to learn the gender? I hate surprises." Then he got Taylor to join in! "Mom, I really want to know if we're having a sister or a brother. Will you please find out?"

So, the ultrasound day arrived. Dave and I went down to the doctor....and I caved. We decided to learn the gender. We got a clear shot of the area!

After soccer practice, all of our neighbors and friends came over for homemade pizza and ice cream. We had everybody gather around on the deck and gave our children little boxes, containing clues about the gender of the baby! Check out this video to see what is coming into our home in 4 1/2 months!

Dave and Merideth, who is due right before me!

Taylor's real excitement kicked in when everybody left! Her prayers were so cute. "Heavenly Father, Thank you so much for my family and I'm so excited to have a sister because I wanted a sister more than a brother. I am so happy to share my room with her and we want to have matching beds and I'm so happy to be a big sister." And on and on! Jaxson and I had this conversation this morning: "Mom, when we have the baby, I'm going to hold it when you cook rice." I replied, "Yes I'm going to need your help so much when I'm in the kitchen cooking." Jaxson's response: "Yes, when you cook rice, I'll hold the baby so it won't cry." Austin's conversations have gone as followed: "Austin, are you so excited to be a big brother to a baby sister?" "No! A bluther!" (that would be "brother").

Kids' "Cornaubll"

Today the kids created a family carnival for Dave and me! It was an adventure for each of us and we hope we never have to pay full price in the future for such entertainment.

As we left our home, we were first greeted with a sign made by Taylor:After we reached the "cornaubll", we had to purchase tickets from the jeep vendor, Jaxson. The tickets turned out to be flags, previously installed in our yard to teach Dave's dog, Casey, from leaving the property. The flags now had another purpose:

the first event was the transportation booth: all vehicles lined up in front of the garage for us to ride. (What are the chances that they will be moved before I back over them in the morning....)Following the transportation booth, we arrived at the "rock scratch" event. You see, it was explained to us if we "scratch" our fingers on the rocks, they will be become smooth. I am still trying to decide if Taylor was talking about the rocks or our fingers.....The 2nd to last event was the golf course. Look at how much fun they have with their kid-sized golf clubs!

Last event: funny faces and ice cream! Now, don't YOU wish you could have come to the carnival today at the Lindsay home?

Wonder Why I Am Having Back Spasms/Nerve Pinches?

I wonder if this sleeping arrangement (typical of recent mornings) is really working for me personally. See where Jaxson is on the end- I usually am next to him, hanging off the bed by morning. Notice how Dave seems to find an area of the bed where nobody curls up to him. Why can't I have that!

As a result of this situation, my limbs have been tingley and feeling like they are going to sleep....when I am awake and doing stuff! So, we figured it might have something to do with my sleeping position at night!
