Lindsay Luck Strikes Again!

So, we have another broken bone in the family. After cousin Jessica's baptism, we went over to her house for a celebration dinner. Austin was jumping on the trampoline and Taylor kind of came down on him. He screamed and held his arm. Dave assessed the arm and guessed it was sprained.
Being the great parents we are, we didn't take him in for 2 days. The X-rays showed that both bones in the forearm were broken. Poor little guy! Austin has this great little blue cast that has become a weapon.

Happy 4th Birthday, Jaxson!!!

For Jaxson's 4th Birthday, he wanted to go to Kangaroo Zoo with some friends. I told him he could invite 2 friends, so he chose Riley and his best friend, Clayton. Kangaroo Zoo was a blast. Highlights included watching the kids bounce on each other and Jaxson opening the forbidden west door, thus enabling the alarm and lights.

The next day, we had a little lunch with our grandparents and cousins and aunts. Grandma Rae Rae, Grandma Barbie, Poppie, Aunts Cheri and Cindy and cousins Carson, Jessica and Madison came over for a few hours. We ate a delicious lunch and then moved the party outside for a pinata (or as Jaxson called it, a "pina-lotta). At the time, I thought it was the highlight of the day. But about 15 minutes after, when Jaxson opened the gift from Carson and Aunt Cindy, it was obvious that the highlight of the day was in the present!

Thanks to Aunt Cheri's help, Austin was successful!

Aunt Cheri Poppie was eager to have a turn! He gave the final blow to the head and POW- candy flew all over!
Kids scurried everywhere to get the candy! Lindsay kids- Austin, Jaxson and Taylor

Before Jaxson could open his gift from Aunt Cindy and Carson, there was an explanation from Carson about the gift- how it was for Austin and Taylor's birthday too. It was hilarious! To our shock and amazement, Jaxson opened an Nintendo game from Carson and Aunt Cindy

Easter Sunday/Happy Birthday Austin!

Austin's Birthday(March 23rd) landed on Easter Sunday this year! Apparently, according to an E-mail I received, this won't happen for another 217 years or so.

There was nothing normal about the entire weekend. I came down with a horrible intestinal infection and literally could not leave my house from Wed-Sunday afternoon! I missed the Easter egg hunt in the park, Barbara's 65th birthday celebration and barely made it to church to play a piano solo and accompany the choir and solo numbers!

Sunday evening, we went over to Grandma Barbie's and Poppie's house for an Easter dinner and celebration of Austin's birthday. The kids played outside in the warm weather and looked for left over eggs.

The "Family" Dog

I can't believe I am even typing and posting this new information, but Dave finally convinced me to have a "family" dog. I say "family" because I informed him I am not part of the dog love. All of my siblings and parents know that I have never enjoyed even the mere touch nor smell of a hound. Hate the wet noses, hate the dancing around my feet and jumping on me, hate the smell of the food and hair. Anyway, the kids and Dave are so happy. Dave was practically lactating while holding his new puppy. Casey is her name, she is a rotweiler and the kids love her. The one good thing about the dog is that Dave and the kids take walks each day and I think it is super bonding for them. Austin, Jaxson and the dog
