Called To Serve In Japan!

Missionary Month was a HUGE hit! Alyssa got called to serve in Japan at Richard and Shinobu's Warner's home. They helped create a fabulous experience for our girls.

Taylor ALWAYS finds the most fun apps. Now with AI splashing into our "normal" lives, she had us in stitches with these AI dancers.
 

2025 UFLA: "Madame President"

UFLA 2025 turned out to be pretty exciting! All Alpine School District educators were picked up as presenters. I found myself running from presentation to presentation to support my colleagues. I presented as well.

A few weeks before the conference, Dr. Bell at BYU reached out to me and said she has accomplished everything she had wanted to EXCEPT for having me run for president. I was hesitant....mainly because my job and being in YW is overwhelming....but considering Alpine splitting and understanding that teachers most likely won't have access to the amount of professional learning we have now, I felt it was time to reinvent UFLA and make it current and relevant.  So I threw my hat in and then learned that Alyssa's former French teacher was also running. 

I was elected by WL educators and professors throughout Utah as President of UFLA for the next 3 years (president elect, president, past president). I can't wait to leave my mark on Utah before I (am forced to) retire.

 

2025 Parade of Homes in St George

This year's UFLA (Utah Foreign Language Association) conference took place for the first time ever in St. George. Dave called Lynne and Lisa to tell them we would be down for 2 nights. Lynne invited us to take his empty Marriott hotel room and work remotely on Thursday so Dave and I drove down Wednesday. We drove down to St. George a day early and worked from the hotel the next day. 

In the evening, we met up with Lynne and Lisa for dinner and for a dash to 7 Parade of Homes. WOWZERS! 

 

Our Awesome ADULT Kiddos!

This is just a little post to highlight how AWESOME our adult children are right now! Austin is working in the cold, rain, and wind, driven to hit his goals and grow his portfolio. Taylor is almost finished with her graphic design degree at MTEC. We are so proud of the beautiful woman she is and how she is becoming the best version of herself. And Jaxson still comes home to help Dave and me. He never acts like we are burdens; instead, he supports and gets to work. We just love his generosity and how he freely shares his talents.

 

Brittney's Baby Shower....it's a GIRL

We spent a few hours celebrating Brittney's soon-to-arrive baby girl! Taylor and Alyssa had spent hours with Connie planning the decorations and food for the baby shower. It all turned out so beautiful. Brittney was glowing with joy! We can't wait to meet this little one-

 

Valentine's Day 2025

I chose to create little gift bags for the loves of my life for Valentine's Day this year! It was so much fun to shop for everyone and purchase something they would be excited about. 

I also love word gifts! I wrote little notes for each of the kids and Dave. I told Dave I didn't want jewelry or flowers; I wanted him to share how he feels about me for my gift (and not an AI version). He knocked it out of the park for me! Sure do love my husband!

In the evening, we had a fondue dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day. We invited Grandma Barbie over to eat with our family.
