Our time in Rome flew by too quickly! We arose early, ate breakfast, packed, and left for Ostia Antica, a vast community that had once thrived as the last stop to Rome, been covered and then excavated and restored for us to see! We learned about how the Romans constructed saunas and the community toilets, with orchestras and all! LOL
From Ostia, we left for the train station to catch a bullet train to Venice. Instead of having a 9 hour bus ride, we made it to Venice in 3 hrs and 40 minutes including 4 stops. The Italian countryside was beautiful! Our hotel in Lido Jesilo was comfy. We sought out some Gelato and found some in a bar that opened just for us! Tomorrow....VENICE!!!
