About three weeks before the Boulder Half Ironman Race, Dave got really sick. Like really, really sick. He was fevered, chilled, achey, etc for about 5 days. Antibiotics helped a little bit but Dave was just super sick. He had been training for the Boulder Half and just couldn't get his energy levels back. I was very worried about him and just wanted him to be safe. About 10 days before the race, he decided for sure he would not compete. On day 9 before the race, he got his back adjusted and Bishop Ben convinced him to do it.
So he did. And he did a great job. We watched via an app his times. Dave called me after his swim and then after his 56 biking segment (because he knew I would be anxious to hear how he was doing physically). We are so proud of our Ironman!

Paddle Boarding The Summer Away
After our 2015 evening at Tibble Fork with Matt Haney, I was set on purchasing paddle boards for us to use this summer. Dave and I met at Costco and we purchased 4 boards, two of which were inflatable and the other two for children under 120 lbs. We have taken them out twice now at the Manila Pond with my brother Jeff and love it every time! Cousin Doug met us at the pond a few nights ago with Dylan and Parker for a few hours of paddling around the pond. So fun!
Happy Father's Day to our wonderful Dave!
We just love our father! Dave is a wonderful dad to his children and even better husband to me. I constantly give thanks for him and the blessing he is to me and the children.
We made him crepes and sausage eggs for breakfast and then took him to the workout room to show him the poster I had made from the St. George Half Iron Man and BYU 2016 Football season tickets. He was shocked, especially when I told him how little I paid for season tickets. We ended our day at Grandma Barbie's for a yummy BBQ with the Lindsay family. It was a fun day filled with gratitude and love!

Strawberry Rodeo 2016: Yeeeeehaw!
I love a great rodeo. Well, expect for the steer wrestling and any dangerous bull riding! :) We met at the rodeo with our good friends for some fun together. Strawberries, cream, nachos, and some great cowboys made for some wonderful memories under the big lights.
Scout Camp & Young Women's Camp
Both Jaxson and Taylor left us for Scout Camp (at Camp Hull near Preston, Idaho) and Taylor for Stake Girls' Camp (at Mutual Dell in AF Canyon). Our house sure seemed quiet and a little boring while the kids were gone. Austin and Alyssa luckily had swimming lessons and soccer camp to keep them busy during the time the kids were away.
The Dirty Dash and Piglet Plunge
The setting was Midway and the day was hot. We left Cedar Hills after the parade for the Dirty Dash, a race that takes you through challenges.... filled with mud. Yolanda and Karyn were Jaxson and my race partners. I was the slowest and Jaxson was so cute to wait for me.
After the race, Dave and the kids met us for the Piglet Plunge, a race for the younger children. They LOVED it!!! It was the greatest day together.
