With Jenny coming into town, we decided to celebrate her 50th birthday at the Hatch Family Christmas Party!
We had the most difficult time finding a date for the party. The only day that worked for 3 of the 4 of us was December 18th. Then Melanie cancelled. Then Jana cancelled. So it ended up being Jenny's family and ours.
And we had a MARVELOUS time!
The Strattons arrived around 4pm and Jessica arrived soon after. We spent a few hours visiting while making gingerbread houses. Patrick had some natural talent, Dan's "Christmas Outhouse" was hysterical, and Jenny's came out the most pretty. We ate sloppy joes, played white elephant, and then sang Christmas carols. The Stratton boys played their recital pieces for me before games at the kitchen table began.
We had the most lovely evening together making memories. When the boys left, Preston yelled out, ''love you" to me and it melted me in a puddle. Alyssa commented later that night that after having spent more time with Jenny, Aunt Jenny is her favorite aunt. haha
We missed having the big crew here but loved getting to know Jenny's kids better. Christmas is inching closer now---can't wait!
