BYU Women's BB Game with Alyssa

During the reading competition at Deerfield, Alyssa had a week where she read the most minutes in her entire grade.  She came home and told me how the principal showed her a basket filled with prizes, everything from toys to free ice cream. "And do you want to know what I picked, mom?", Alyssa said.  "I chose a BYU women's basketball game because you love BYU and basketball so I thought we could go together."  What a sweetheart!  I took her to Chick-fil-a for lunch and then we went to the game and enjoyed a marvelous- and close- win over Gonzaga.  There was a huge crowd of people, bigger than any game I have ever seen there for women's basketball.  Alyssa and I loved our time together.  I need to make certain to spend more one-on-one time with each of the kids.

President's Day Weekend

President's Day Weekend was so much fun!  On Friday night, we went to the last LPHS's boys' basketball game of the season.  I teach 3 of the 5 starters and 2 of the frequently-substituted players so these games are fun for me to watch!  Taylor had a great time with her cute friends and Alyssa was in heaven.

On Sunday, Dave got to be Nephi in primary.  He was adorable.  And everybody loved him.  Me especially! ;)

On Monday, I took the kids skiing at Brighton.  We had a blast!  They are really coming along with their skills.  Jaxson and Taylor just took off and I stayed back to help Austin and Alyssa.  It was a wonderful day spent with my kids.

Showing our LOVE: Valentine's Day 2017!

We love Valentine's Day in the Lindsay home!  It came down to the line in making our cookies this year, but we got it in...on a Sunday morning! Ha Ha!  For Valentine's Day, I made a shrimp pasta meal for the family.  Dave gave me the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers.  He is so thoughtful and sweet.  I sure hit the lottery when I married him!  I just love my little family.  As we are moving forward in life, I crave spending time with them.  Each one of them!  Happy Valentine's Day, Lindsays!

Dave's Surgery

A few days after Alyssa's baptism weekend, Dave went in for surgery.  All went very well.  We were grateful that Grandma Barbie came to spend time at the hospital with us while we waited for Dave to come out of surgery.  Alyssa was sick (and took over my space in my bed for about 4 days) and missed her first activity days activity--- which was Valentine's Day themed.  So her wonderful leaders, Sister Routh and Sister Wilson, brought the girls to our home and decorated our door for Dave in gratitude for his service as Sunday School President.  We are sure grateful for our dad!  Dave is the best dad and husband in the world!

Alyssa's Baptismal Day

On Saturday morning, I arose early to make some more food and tried to get my thoughts in a place to appreciate and embrace Alyssa's baptism.  We fed the kids and adults cold cereal for breakfast and then got ready for the baptism.
Alyssa's baptism was just beautiful.  She looked lovely and was excited to be baptized.  We had a large group of our tribe: family, close friends, and leaders/ward members all came out to show their love and support to us and our family.  Dave got choked up giving the baptismal prayer.  He has such a tender spot for her in his heart.  I love their relationship.  It melts me.  I was asked to share my testimony before she was confirmed.  I couldn't hear much of the prayer, sadly, so I don't know what he said....and he says he can't remember! ha ha!  I'm sure it was a beautiful confirmation.

After the service, we took pictures outside and then headed to our house for a dinner for about 50 people.  What a great time!  We ate yummy food and had great conversations with each other for several hours.

Mom and Dad left for Justin's house since they were flying out on Monday.  This visit has been so great since we have been homesick for them.  Brandon and his family were the last ones with us.  The kids went to the park, we watched a movie, ate a pizza dinner, played tons of board games, and just enjoyed each others' company.
Life is so good.  I feel very blessed.  We ARE blessed.
