King of Kindergarten!

On a beautiful fall day, Austin came running to the Suburban with a hat fit for a Kindergarten King! And he was soooo happy!

A new Geschirrspülmachine!

One evening around 8:30pm, as Dave was soaking in the tub and I was running around trying to get the kids into bed, I raced into the kitchen to grab a sippy cup for Alyssa. It was there that I noticed black smoke coming out of the dish washer. I ran and hit the stop button, but NOTHING STOPPED! I hit cancel and stop over and over again, but nothing. So I opened the door (since that will always stop a dishwasher on the spot) and was slammed in the face with hot water. Suddenly, hot water was hitting the ceiling and my face so I slammed the door shut.

At that point, Jaxson had run into the bathroom to alert Dave so Dave comes running out of our bedroom, wrapped in only a towel and ran to the basement. In a matter of seconds, he had turned off the electric breaker for the dishwasher and garbage disposal.

Over the next several days, we made calls to repairmen and SEARS. We determined at that point we needed to commit to either purchasing a new dishwasher or repairing the one in the kitchen. THREE WEEKS LATER, I was still doing all of the dishes by hand. I finally said to Dave and I was going to purchase one on my own. And I did.

Yay for the new Geschirrspülmachine!

BYU Football with Meredith!

Meredith had a great Girls Night Out at a football game a few weeks ago. There were several favorite parts for me: the game (obviously), the company (obviously) and the text I received from Dave about an hour into the game! It read something like this, "Hope you are having fun. The kids and I have had the greatest night. They are in bed. Don't worry." And it didn't! :)
Love you, Meres!

Rise and Shout, baby!

The boys after a late-night at the Hults.....

Notes of Love!

On Tuesdays, after I drop Taylor off at voice lessons in PG, I always take the kids to my school nearby and we hang out there for 50 minutes. A few weeks ago, as I entered my classroom on a Wednesday morning, I found this note left from Jaxson:
Love it. Love the boy even more!

Mondays....my new favorite day!

Yesterday, as we were jumping into the suburban at 7:00am on our way to Julie's house/school/work, Austin said to me, "Mom- do you know what I am the most excited about today?"

Our conversation went like this:
Jody: "School?"
Austin: "Nope."
Jody: "Football?"
Austin: "No, mom"
Jody: "Reading with mom?"
Austin: "No, Mom. GUESS!!!!"
Jody: "I don't know, son. Tell me!"
Austin: "I love Mondays because YOU pick me up from school on Mondays!"

Wow. I have a person I have birthed who loves Mondays because I get to pick him up from Kindergarten.

You know what?

I think Mondays just became my favorite day of the week too.

Fall Traditions: Football, Face Painting and Soccer Season Ends

WOW! This fall has been a whirlwind for our family. We have never been this busy as a family. Having said that, we have enjoyed watching the kids progress and develop new talents, gain confidence and enjoy these activities together as a family.

Soccer season wrapped up yesterday until March 2012. Austin played hard and scored several goals for his team. I love the intensity he shows as he focuses in on each and every play during a game.
Best buddy, Rees, and Austin chasing each other to score the coveted goal!
Rah, Rah, Rah Fire Bombs!

Grandma Barbie was welcomed by Alyssa at the game. She and Poppie rarely miss an event with the children. The kids make certain their grandparents know that their presence means something to them!

Flying Planes after the Lightning Bolts score!

At the end of each game, we have a tradition to form a tunnel for the kids to run through. They love it and expect it. Even the parents from the other team join us so that ALL the soccer stars can run through their tunnel!

Dave and King James: every time Dave and I have our marriage in a good place, he brings a dog into it......
Dog Piling Coach Jay! Jay Hafen has been an incredible coach and mentor. Thanks, Christina Natalie, for setting us up with him because he is incredible.

Breath-taking Fall Scenery in Utah!
Gardner Village
Going to Gardner Village is a feast of vibrant colors, smells and imagination. Last year, on a Saturday morning, we spent a few hours there with Grandma Barbie and had the greatest time. In was then that we chose to make it a fall tradition.

The kids love the colorful witches and mostly, to have their faces painted for a day. We enjoyed walking around and browsing through the shops too.

Face Painting
Alyssa LOVES "Hello Kitty" and wanted it on her cheek!

Mean Kitty

Yes....Happy Kitty!

The Hults met up with us at Gardner Village for a while. Carter wanted to join the kids in the face painting.
This is so magical to me. I caught this fast shot as he opened his eyes to see himself transformed for the first time!

Cute little besties!
(not beasties today)
