2019 Spring Break- Day 1 Flight to Rome!

After running Austin to an emergency orthodontic appointment and sending Jaxson and Taylor to Kohls to try and find Jaxson a coat, Taylor, Jax, and I left for SLC International Airport to catch a 8.5 hour flight to Amsterdam!  Checking in got a little tricky and by the time I got through security and to the gate, they were starting to board the flight!  The flight was incredibly smooth and I was able to get some good sleep after watching a few documentaries.

Our group consisted of 37 travelers, 14 youth and the rest adults.  Justin and Jana traveled with us as well as the Johnstons with Riley, Karl and Beth Gadd from OCJH, Jeff and Rachel Jensen and their son, Stephanie Banner and her daughter, former student Jenessa and her dad, and many more!

We landed in Amsterdam for a quick layover before heading to Rome.  I loved my window seat so I could look down over the Rhein river in Germany with the castles doting the hillsides and then the majesty of the snow-covered alps in Switzerland.

Flying into Rome was pretty sweet!  We banked over the ocean and had a great shot of the city!  Welcome to ROME, ITALY!!!

Ginger's Family Visits Utah!

Ginger, Josh, and family flew to Utah for a wedding in Logan.  They stopped to get some winter clothes from me so I met them at a park in Orem for 15 minutes.  Calvin loved us the most. I think his tears were from not being able to spend more time with Aunt Jody and cousin Taylor.  The other kids were adorable.  We miss Ginger and her family.

BYU Birthday Gifts & Missionary Excitement!

Before mom and dad left for Arizona, they left me with Dave and my birthday gifts.  On Dave's birthday, mom told me to have us open our gifts at the same time (March 8th) since they were matching.  We received our BYU blankets and immediately wrapped ourselves up in them!

Missionary work was in the air!  Our 3 teenagers participated in a missionary week with mission calls to different "countries" in our ward boundaries!  Then we watched our beautiful neighbor, Alexa, open her mission call to the Dominican Republic.  We hope these experiences sink deep into our children's hearts so the spirit will touch them and convert them to follow Christ.

We enjoyed an evening in Ephraim watching him perform in Phantom of the Opera!  Taylor brought her cute friend, JD, with us.  I enjoy broadway and being with my family: a win-win evening!

March Concerts and a Hunky Husband's Birthday

With both Taylor and Jaxson participating in choirs at their schools, we have had the glorious opportunity to attend many concerts.  March kicked us off with two fabulous concerts, one at LPHS and the other at MRJH.  I will miss hearing Taylor sing every few months.  Jaxson's participation has been surprising but embraced by us.

For Dave's 47th birthday, we met at Rumbi Grill for a healthy dinner and then attended the MRJH Grand Concert with Poppie and Grandma Barbie! It was a great evening.

We love our dad and husband, Dave, deeply and eternally.  He is my greatest earthly gift, along with my children, parents, family, and close friends.

Austin has had a great time playing jr jazz basketball season. Dave helped Coach Jacob Boone with the team and loved being a part of Austin's experience this season.  Now, off to tournaments!
