July: Enjoying Everyday

July 2022 will be remembered by me with slow, hot days, warm nights, and some unmet expectations. 

 

Jasmine and Matt Tie the Knot!

It was a beautiful day at the Draper Temple where we watched Jasmine and Matt sealed.  It was amazing to be with cousins and our Brazilian family.  Taylor, Maddie, and Drew continued the celebrating into the weekend with a sleepover, rollerskating, and games. 

 

July 4th Weekend: the Party Just Keeps Going!

On Sunday, July 3rd, we spent the day at cousin Doug's house for an all-day Brazilian BBQ to celebrate July 4th and Doug's birthday.  We love our Brazilian family, so full of love and passion.

And on the 4th itself, we found ourselves at Connie's house for a BBQ and more fireworks from the city of PG. We enjoyed family and yummy food!  We love our country and our family!

 

Stadium of Fire with Tim McGraw and Marie Osmond

We splurged for tickets to see Tim McGraw at Stadium of Fire this year. The good news: it is an experience!  The bad news: we couldn't hear anything.  The speaker system was horrible. And there was a stupid kid who vaped near the kids. But we were together as a family.

The fireworks were spectacular.  We love our country and each other.

 

Women's USA vs Colombia @ Rio Tinto

We had a unique experience to watch many women's soccer players from the 2020 Olympic gold medalists play against Columbia in Salt Lake City. It was a really fun game, especially with Alyssa, Syd, and Zoey from the Celtic team.

Before the game, there are always soccer-related activities for the fans to participate in.  When we saw the goal shoot with the inside targets, I said to the girls, "With all of the money we dump into soccer, you need to hit the inside target or we (parents) are moving you back to rec ball."  Alyssa stepped up and hit a bullseye....followed by Syd! I guess they showed us!
