Post-Christmas Celebrations/New Year's Eve 2021

The Christmas season just kept on going!  We were pretty exhausted from all of December's wonderful Christmas celebrations so the few days following the 25th were spent resting, catching up on our family blog and Shutterfly book from the fall, watching movies, and playing some games.  Dave had a pretty busy schedule so it was good for him to be able to see patients.  The kids and I ran errands, took down our Christmas decor, shopped for Taylor's dorm, watching the snow fall, etc.

On the 29th, we invited Doug and Melissa's family over for a cheese, meat, and chocolate fondue night.  Justin and Jana's family ended up coming last minute so our home was filled 20 family members and significant others for a spectacular spread and games!  The kids had fun hanging out with cousins.  Kaden said it so well at the end of the night: "Why aren't we spending more time together as cousins? We need to do this more."

Two nights later, the Jentzschs came over for New Year's Eve!  We ended up playing Telestrations for hours and laughing harder than we had remembered in the short term.  As we counted down the final seconds of 2021, I felt the all-too familiar feelings I have at the end of each year, that it is always a blessing to bring in the new year with my gorgeous husband and beautiful children.  In another Covid-ridden year, our family has been so blessed.  My heart is filled with so much gratitude to Heavenly Father for all He has blessed us with.

Merry Christmas

We love Christmas together!  We enjoyed opening our gifts (kids said it was the best Christmas ever), ate a scrumptious breakfast, napped like crazy, watched movies and football, loved each other.

Christmas Eve 2021

Christmas Eve is all about gathering family to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. We gathered at Grandma Barbie and Poppie's house for a ham and cranberry chicken dinner, a song by Taylor (Mary, did you know?), and then opening gifts from each other.

When we arrived home, we read from Luke 2 and knelt in prayer as a family.  It was the perfect night to reflect the gift of the Son.
