Spring Break 2021: Rest and Replenish (Day 7)

Here is a picture of what we did on day 7:

 Nothing.

Well, kind of. We slept in.  Having spent the past 3 days at beaches on both sides of the Florida coast had worn us out!  We swam, I listened to an audio book poolside, and then in the afternoon, Dave, Connie, Ken, and I had a great double date. We drove around to see different real estate, drove to Disney Springs to exchange a swimming suit at Ron Jons Surf Shop, and then waited 2 hours to eat at Chuy's, a fabulous Mexican restaurant near the Watt's home.

Spring Break 2021: Cocoa Beach with the Jentzschs (Day 6)

Since we were on a roll of hitting beach towns during our final days in Florida, we decided to drive to Cocoa Beach (Atlantic) to spend time with Doug and Melissa's family, who were also vacationing in the Sunshine State!  It ended up to be another incredible day.  We hung out at the beach, did push-up challenges, took long strolls, shopped at Ron Jon Surf Shop (now a tradition for our family), and wrapped up the day eating at "Mainly Lobster" where Taylor and I shared lobster and the best clam chowder I have ever eaten (sorry, mom. Your's is a close 2nd!).

We don't want our vacation to end.

Actually, cousin Doug and I are angry at our ancestors for heading west instead of south when they got off the boats......

Spring Break 2021: Siesta Key, Florida (Day 5....and Jaxson's birthday!)

If there has ever been a perfect day, it was April 4, 2021 spent at Siesta Key, Florida for Jaxson's birthday.
I loved every minute of it.
We drove to the Gulf Coast to spend Jaxson's birthday at the beach named the "best beach in Florida in 2015" by Mr. Beach himself.
Siesta Key is a little beach town loaded with charm and salty air on the Gulf of Mexico. We parked near the beach where we met a German couple who had immigrated 31 years ago there and never left.  They explained the sand was ground quartz which felt like a mix of flour and corn starch, keeping feet cool on the hottest days.
We were some of the first people there so we got to enjoy the clear water by ourselves. We made Taylor a mermaid and Alyssa a fish. We ate at a cool-vibe restaurant called the "Daiquiri Deck", a quick 6 minute walk from the beach.  The fish tacos were to die for and the music was relaxing.
I just love this family of mine and our special adventures together!
