Our theme for Foriegn Language Week 2013 was "Around the World in 5 Days." It was another huge success. The students loved the different activities and I feel they learned a lot about the world and its cultures. Here are a few of the pictures that will always remind me of the week:

Happy 7th Birthday, Austin!
Our Austin has been looking forward to his 7th birthday since March 24th, 2012, the day after he turned 6! Since the week leading up to his birthday was crazy (Foreign Language Week and Deerfield's play each night), I decided to just take the boys bowling. It was a fun and a huge hit! We bowled, got drinks, and played the arcade for a while. Austin was beaming---it was just the perfect celebration for a young boy's birthday.
(Jaxson hit the jackpot! Yup, it would be him!)
The Wizard Of Oz
Our local elementary school is known for high grades, high scores on state testing and its plays! The school community does a lot to support the kids with time and money. It shows.
This year's play was no exception. Taylor auditioned and got a small speaking part, that of a flying monkey. She was awesome! She did her lines loud and well. All of us were proud of her hard work and performance.

Austin lost a tooth before the final performance. Ha Ha Ha!
