Jaxson and Austin Tear it up in Football!

Jaxson decided to give flag football a try and it was a fantastic choice!  He has really enjoyed the 5 week season.  We are proud of our son and his SPEED!

Austin's football games have consumed every Saturday since the end of August.  Alyssa, Jaxson and I haven't missed a game (of course) and love watching Austin's excitement.

OCJH Opening Social

People who know me are aware that I LOVE where I teach!  I have been blessed to work with/and continue to work with some of the most fabulously talented and inspirational people on the planet.  Oak Canyon welcomed two more of these people a few months ago:  a new principal named Doug Webb and an assistant principal named Jim Young.  Both have brought a spark and passion back to Oak Canyon that was slowly being killed off by a series of bitter teachers and poor administrators.

At the beginning of the school year, Doug Webb asked the Department Heads, "So, what are we doing for our fall social?"  Since we've never had one, nobody knew how to respond.  Doug was flabbergasted and responded, "We'll take care of it."

And they did.

On Tuesday, we met at the school for a yummy dinner cooked by our administrators of grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, cookies, veggies etc.  Our student council provided activities for the kids:  face painting, go-cart races, tag.  And our principal brought Kip the pony!  His daughter patiently took child after child on a ride along the grass on the sweet little pony.  There was cotton candy being spun and snow cones.

With sugar-coated lips, broken sandals and smiles, the Lindsay kids left the social dying to know when the next social would take place!

Doing Dave's Laundry Pays Off....FINALLY!

For the past 3 years, I have been collecting the change out his pant pockets and keeping it in a little container.  The other night, we rolled it and guess how much?

$119.00

PS-  Anyone want the job? ;)

Football at PGHS

This football season has been a little discouraging (we are 0-5) but we are certainly learning a lot about never giving up, giving your best and the power of the positive coaching!  Yay for our hot coach (Dave)!  Last week after our 4th loss, he received multiple emails and texts from parents expressing they know he has been dealt a small (both in size and number) group of unusual kids and how grateful they are for the way he has treated their athlete.

We have the greatest time supporting our dad and Austin!

Seven Peaks Passes: already a success!

The kids and I decided it was time to test out our Seven Peaks passes at Trafalga.  Accompanying us were three of the kids' friends so I had a suburban loaded with kids- 7 to be exact!

And we had a BLAST!  There weren't many people there at all, so we rarely had to wait in line for any ride or even laser tag.  Alyssa and I went on several rides together while the kids played against each other.

Sometimes Jaxson makes me feel so good about my parenting skills......

Taylor and Olivia hit the race cars.  Taylor was nervous.  My favorite part was when she hit the man in front of her because she couldn't remember how to brake.  I'll remember that when she is about 16 years old....

 ZOOM!

 The Rock Wall
This was one of my favorite things to watch my kids on. Jax, Austin and Alyssa were  fearless.

 Golfing with the kids
Alyssa, Austin, Rees and I enjoyed a round of miniature golf.  Rees killed us.  Alyssa was a pill, but a cute one. Austin just wanted to hit as well as his buddy Rees.

 Our Group of Friends

My favorite part of the night was the gratitude each child expressed over and over to me for taking the to Trafalga!  Seriously, I came home tired but on a high.  I'm grateful for the great influence of friends on my children.  Seven Peaks passes:  already a success!
