Baby Love....

We LOVE our little baby! I know she looks like a 38 pound toddler but we all see her as our baby girl.

This picture is a Julie's house! I got this text from Julie while at work. One of the mothers made all of the kids hats. Alyssa wouldn't take hers off! Love!

Lip Gloss
Alyssa is currently obsessed with her lip gloss! She carries it everywhere in a little box. It cracks me up when I see it smeared all over her beautiful face!

More than a job: a passion!

Of all the blessings I enjoy each day, one of the greatest is the love I have of education and of where I am fortunate to have a job. I love teaching. I love the people with whom I work. Here are two pictures from the past two weeks which make me smile!Several members of the faculty indulging me by dancing to Michael Jackson's "THRILLER" on Halloween day!

OCJH presents Beauty and the Beast!

For a Girl's Night Out, Taylor and I decided it would be fun to see the play at the junior high, the musical "Beauty and the Beast." It was an incredible performance. I was mesmerized by the performers and Taylor and Jayden had the greatest time too!

The Annual Primary Program

The primary in our ward is so enormous that our annual program has changed a lot in the past few years. Instead of hearing each one of the 120 primary kids talk, they decided to ask 6-7 children to give talks. Taylor was one of the children asked to give a talk. She was nervous but delivered it with a special confidence that took our breath away. We are so proud of our Taylor girl!

Afterward, as Dave and I sat in Sunday School, our two sons BURST in the chapel. Austin was holding something in his hand. They loudly and excitedly informed us that Austin had just lost his first tooth! We, along with the others around us, had a good chuckle as the bloody-mouthed Austin and enthused Jaxson headed back to class! The tooth-less wonders!

Halloween Extravaganza 2011

Yep, we love Halloween in the Lindsay home! And not in a creepy way either. We don't create haunted houses, we don't have gory characters hanging from the ceiling nor do we put skeletons all over the yard. But we know how to have......
FUN!

I had personally a crazy-busy day! In the weeks leading up to the 31st, I had said yes to doing a craft at Austin's elementary for their Halloween party, said yes to my principal who asked me to be in charge of the 1 hour collaboration celebration in the school and then, of course, there is the annual Lindsay Halloween supper at our home.
And so began my marathon! I taught my THS German 3/4 class and then ran over to the junior high to take pictures of all of the faculty who had dressed up so I could put together a movie for us to watch. From there, I ran over to Austin's school to help the kids make vampire suckers. They were soooo cute!
From there, I ran to Walmart to grab extra bowls, ran to the dealership to get the plates for the suburban, then headed back to the Jr High to set up for the Halloween Hour.

It went really well! :)

Afterwards, I dashed to pick up the kiddos and headed home to get ready for our party. The weather was beautiful: close to 70 degrees. At 4:30 the party began!

The Lindsay Family Halloween Supper
Around 70 adults and children came over for a pre-trick-or-treating supper of soups, chowders, rolls and dessert! There was apple-bobbing too! It was another great start to fill the childrens' stomachs with warm, healthy food before heading out for the sugar-filled treats.

I had to throw it in again: my in-laws were so awesome!

The Bingham Bunch
(Their kids and our kids are best buddies)

My parents were in town and came over for the fun. It was so great to spend the evening with them.
I asked my guests to refer to me as "Mother Superior" for the night (since my children won't.......)

Pray for us.......

Trick-or-treating was a riot. The neighborhood and ward we live in goes way out of their way each and every Halloween to make it special for both kids and parents alike. We loved the homemade caramel apples at the Hunts, the spooky fun at the Parkers and Donuts on a string at the Guercios home.

I put together a movie on DVD to play while our guests were here of our Halloween memories with the neighbors over the years. Since 2006, I have pictures of the Johnstons, Gunthers and Nieporte families, all of which have moved from here. I truly had a hole in my heart this year as I missed them. To you guys, I want to say THANKS! Thanks for coming at the beginning, having fun with us and creating this grand tradition for our families and our new neighborhood families.

Until next year......BOO!

Fall Break 2011: Perfection!

I always have a to-do list FILLED with things to do; some are things which have deadlines and others are a little further out. During Fall Break this year, I turned up my nose to 95% of my to-do list and JUST PLAYED with my kids and our Lindsay family!
And we all had the greatest time!CORN MAZES, ANIMAL FARM and CARAMEL APPLES
Thursday, October 20th

After my 9:00am doctor's appointment, we met Aunt Cindy, Caron and Grandma and Poppie at Aunt Cheri's house. We hung out there for a bit before heading out to the Vineyard Nursery. I love that place! It is perfect for the ages of my children. Here are some pictures of our fun afternoon there:
Rabbits, goats, chickens.....all sorts of animal fun!

Let's head into the Corn Maze!

Baby Girl and Mama Bear

It's always more fun with Grandma Barbie and Poppie!

We lost Aunt Cindy and the kids, so Alyssa, Grandma Barbie, Poppie and I had to go off the beaten path in order to get out!
Shhhh, don't tell!

Alyssa got tired of walking around and insisted on being carried. Thank goodness for Poppie!
They had big blow-up slides for the kids to play on. They had a blast!

I love this picture of Cindy and her parents!

Ahhhhh, FAMILY!

After we arrived home, we ate lunch and made caramel apples for the kids. They were scrumptious! And well-received! :)

A Fall Picnic at Bridal Veil Falls and drive to Cascade Springs
Friday, October 21, 2011

On Friday, we met at our home around noon and headed up Provo Canyon to a new favorite spot: Bridal Veil Falls! Grandma Barbie packed an incredibly yummy lunch for our family. The kids loved running in the fallen leaves. That canyon is a fall feast for the eyes, nose and ears.

CASCADE SPRINGS
Beautiful!

After lunch at Bridal Veil Falls, we started over the Alpine Loop. We were under a time crunch (Dave always has his evening diabetic patients to attend to beginning around 4:15pm) but we had really wanted to see Cascade Springs. It was further than we had remembered but the little cascading falls were even more beautiful than what we had remembered. We were only there for 20 minutes but had a nice time.

FOOTBALL FEVER
Jaxson and Austin's 1st BYU Football Game!

Ohhhh, it you could have been a fly on our wall for this one! I bought tickets to take the boys to their first BYU football game over the weekend. It was awesome! We all had the greatest time!
As we crossed the road to the stadium, Austin stopped to tell the policeman that it was his first BYU football game. Darling!

At the tail-gating party, the boys threw the football for some free candy and had their faces painted.

Then we walked to campus and bought T-shirts for the boys. They LOVED their new shirts and were so proud to wear them!

At the game, after the boys got their popcorn and hot dog, we took a picture near where Riley Nelson was warming up. At the end of our day, Nelson's name came up in the each boy's top 5 highlights of the day! :)

We had awesome seats! About 20 minutes into the game, the boys both started getting tired. I exclaimed, "WHAT? Don't you dare get all tired on me!" Jax said, "But mom, I was so excited, I hardly slept last night!"

Half-time fun!

Other highlights of our Fall Break included a Girls Night at Molly's home til midnight, accompanying Haili P in church on her violin and simply a spiritual day at church. What more could be ask for?
