Valentine's Day 2025

I chose to create little gift bags for the loves of my life for Valentine's Day this year! It was so much fun to shop for everyone and purchase something they would be excited about. 

I also love word gifts! I wrote little notes for each of the kids and Dave. I told Dave I didn't want jewelry or flowers; I wanted him to share how he feels about me for my gift (and not an AI version). He knocked it out of the park for me! Sure do love my husband!

In the evening, we had a fondue dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day. We invited Grandma Barbie over to eat with our family.

 

Austin Works in Atlana/ Superbowl Weekend

Austin drove through the night in a car with 5 young men from Cedar Hills to Atlanta to sell pest control for The Grit. About 3 hours into his drive, he called and told me he forgot his driver's license. :( I had to run down to the Post Office to overnight it to him so he can have it for testing.

Poor Austin hadn't felt well before he left for Atlanta and it got worse as they drove with his throat on fire and a low grade fever. I felt badly for him but he pushed through.

We had Doug and Dylan Jentzsch and Connie and Ken over for the Super Bowl. It was fun, yet we sure missed Austin.

Jody Presents at USBE Board Meeting

I love to share the success we are experiencing in World Language programs in Alpine School District!

ASD’s World Language program was highlighted at the Utah State Board of Education this week. World Language Specialist, Jody Lindsay, shared how teaching for proficiency is developing skills in Utah students to help them lead out in local and global communities.

In 2024, 4% of Utah seniors earned the Utah Seal of Biliteracy. By comparison, 10.8% of Alpine School District seniors earned the Seal.

Results like these stem from consistent access to professional learning and extraordinary teachers who implement new strategies into their classrooms.
