Out and About in schools!

I LOVE running into neighborhood kids when I visit our schools. Here is cute Peyton Casper!

When I was at MVHS, I was ready to leave the principal's office and thought, "I wish I could run into Zoey Floyd." I literally looked into the foyer through the glass windows and THERE SHE WAS!!!!!

Allen Smithee and I were given gifts for the Chinese New Year from the most gracious and generous new Chinese teacher. 

I have the BEST job!
 

Nielsen Hotel, Engers in Church, and Celebrating Clara's Sweet 16!

My original plan was to spend Saturday and Sunday at Jenny & Dan's home in Mesa---with mom and dad coming to see me too--- but Jenny ended up with the flu. Gratefully, Dane invited me over for the night and I was able to book a one-way flight back to Provo on Breeze Airlines.

Since my flight was delayed, I was able to watch church from Sky Harbor. Lucy Enger sang and Grace Enger gave a talk. It was so awesome!

In the evening, we drove over to Meredith's house to celebrate Clara's Sweet 16! It was such a great night to be with Meredith's kids and family. We sure love our Clara---the most sweet and sharp girl!

Thanks for Language Testing International for inviting me to share how Alpine World Language students are reaching higher levels of proficiency each year due to intentional shifts in our pedagogy. I was able to share our story with ACTFL’s new president and the Executive Director who are interested in following our growth and journey.

Jody in Arizona: Day 1

I was invited to present at the Southwest Conference of Language Testing with LTI and the Gila River Resort and Casina near Maricopa, a place I have seen from the freeway for more than a decade when visiting mom and dad during the winter. One of the best parts of the trip was spending the evening with mom and dad! They happened to have a dentist and hair appt in Maricopa the day I arrived, so they picked me up for dinner at Red Lobster and took me to pick up a few groceries before dropping me off at the hotel.
