Hatch Family Christmas Party in Malad

We drove to Malad to meet for our annual FAVORITE Christmas Party of the Year: The Hatch Family Christmas Party! Justin and Jana hosted it in their new, beautiful home. We ate a delicious ham dinner, played minute to win it games, were entertained with White Elephant gifts, wrestled, and laughed for an hour at Nate Bargatze's comedy together. All in all, it was a celebration of family, love, and everything beautiful that Christmas is.

A Season-Ending Injury During Warmups of the First Game of the 23-24 Wasatch GA Season

Back in Utah, the MRI showed that she had dislocated her knee cap and chipped off a little bone. What we didn't expect was to learn that due to her MCL injury of 2018, extra flexibility she has in her knee, and her kneecap sitting a little off to the right, surgery would be the best option for her. Dr. Allen said if chooses not to have surgery, there is a 60-80% chance we will be back in his office in 12-18 months. So we are scheduled for surgery on Dec 28th.

GA Winter Showcase in California!

We decided to take a road trip to southern CA for Alyssa's Winter Showcase for the Girls Academy 23-24 season opener. I was so glad we did because Austin decided to travel with us last minute. Everything is more fun when Austin or more of our children come so we were thankful for him!

As Alyssa was warming up for the 1st game of the season, she felt her knee pop while trying to pass around one of the coaches. The next thing we knew, she was on the ground with her teammates encircling her. She only played about 15 minutes in the first half and it was obvious she was in significant pain. We stayed another day before leaving early back to Utah for a MRI.

Before leaving back to Utah, we spent an afternoon and early evening with cousin Jimmy, Renae, Spencer and his little family. We shopped, ate a the Shake Shack, visited at the hotel for a few hours, and ended up at King Fish for an incredible halibut dinner. Austin and Dave were able to try oysters while I stayed with shrimp and other yumminess! We love our cousins! It was so awesome to spend time with them while in CA.

We left Ontario, CA at 4:30am thanks to Dave's ability to arise without an alarm on vacation which put us outside of Las Vegas at 7:00am for a sunrise and opportunity to visit the 7 Magic Mountains of Las Vegas all by ourselves! The rocks were so cool, bright, and colorful. It was awesome to walk there and take a few pictures and videos.
