2017 Europe Trip- Day 2 Rothenburg and Nürenburg

 Alyssa and I had beautiful views of the greater Frankfurt area as we landed in Germany!
We met our beautiful tour guides, Anna and Karina, at the airport.  We quickly loaded the buses and were off to Rothenburg, a quaint, mid-evil town. 

Rothenburg didn't disappoint!  Since we were nearing Easter time, there were eggs hanging from trees everywhere.  The day was warm and perfect for a stroll around the town. We took pictures, shopped a little, and ate our first gelato....lecker!  Dinner was in Nürenburg, the city where the Nazi War Trials were held.  We were able to spin the rings on the water fountain to bring us good luck!

2017 Europe Trip Day 1- Flying to Europe!

 

After 19 months of planning, our 2017 Europe trip finally arrived!  In the days leading up to the trip, our living room became a packing station with all of our luggage, labels for our outfits, and lists for our carry-on baggage.  I hardly slept for the week in preparation for the trip! 

And then it arrived!

We left our house early on March 31st for the airport.  We were able to quickly get everybody processed and through security.  There were some delays but when JFK realized that re-routing our group of 48 would be a logistical nightmare, they called for our plane to be loaded quickly so we could make our connecting flight in New York.  

The flight from SLC to JFK was smooth until the final 15 minutes.  We were thrown around pretty good which made several of our travelers sick to their stomachs!  At JFK, we got all 48 of us from one terminal to the next and made our connecting flight.  Alyssa was my flight buddy and we slept pretty well together.  We were super excited to be awake for Germany! 

Eagle Of LIght for Austin

 A few years ago, we made the decision that we would do anything and everything to support our sons in scouting so they can earn their Eagle Scout award.  Austin came a little closer with the award of his Arrow of Light.

More Birthday Celebrations

 March is always busy with spring sports beginning and all of the birthdays in our family.  Austin and some friends spent the day at a trampoline park in celebration of his 11th birthday.  The boys had the greatest time.  I tried not to panic, spending 4 hours on the final Saturday before our Europe trip!  LOL

The next day, we ran over to Connie's to celebrate Grandma Barbie's birthday and the boys.  We love our family!

March Madness!

March Madness....really, it is!  We have had scouting pow wows, birthday, yard work, finishing a 3 credit class, conferences, work, church callings, Trek meetings, music lesson, and that just scratches the surface!  We feel so blessed to have these opportunities as a couple and family. 

The highlights in March to this point include Dave and Austin's birthdays and bringing in spring!  Yes!

Celebrating this hunk's birthday- Happy Birthday, Dave Lindsay! You bring our family so much love, laughs, and joy. I hit the jackpot when I married you.  We enjoyed dinner at Red Lobster and then Taylor's voice concert.  Wonderful!
