It's A "Hatch-say" Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving day!  Justin and Jeff came with their families to give thanks through word and food.  We ate early in the afternoon so we could hang out and play games later.  The kids played together beautifully as usual.  We doted on the toddler twins and Brinlee.  They ate it up.  As we finished up eating, we skyped with mom and dad for a few hours.  They loved seeing the grandchildren and talking to their children for the afternoon.  All in all, it was a wonderful day filled with love, kindness, and gratitude for all of the important things to us.

(we love making these little turkeys for the kids.  It's a tradition that they sneak the whoppers---turkey drops--out of the cups)

Dave impressed us with his deliciously-prepared turkey!  It was fried in oil.  It was the moistest turkey we have eaten!  My brothers loved it.

Lots of fun with Uncle Justin

I Hope They Call Me On A Mission!

I

Awesome Austin!

Yes, he IS awesome!  He is always so fired up about the little things in life.  We love that about him.  He recently came bounding home from scouts, exclaiming, "Today was the best day in scouts ever!"  They had gone to the firehouse and he got to spray some water with one of the firefighters.  He won't be forgetting that anytime soon.

At the first of the year, our primary challenged each child to memorize the 13 Articles of Faith.  Austin did it and got his big cookie.  He was so proud of himself and just beaming.  The next day, he skyped with Grandpa and Grandma Hatch (on their mission in Spain) and recited some of the last ones for them.  They loved hearing him recite and then Grandma gave the 4th in Spanish for him to hear!

Taylor's Fall Recital

We love hearing our girl sing!  She met at Best In Music to hear her sing.  She sang a group number and a solo.  We had to run out a little early because Uncle Doug gave her and I balcony front row tickets to the Capitol Theater to see "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."
Taylor was so happy to see Grandma and Poppie come!  We love how they support our children in their interests and budding talents.

Here we are:  the Dave & Jody Lindsay Family
(mom- please don't focus on Austin's UTES shirt.  It is an issue....)

Off to Salt Lake City!

The play was incredible!  So rich in color.  The costumes were spectacular too.

Afterward, we had to eat some Brats and SpƤtzle at Siegfrieds Delikatessen.  We bought some Mannerschnitten and Lebkuchen too!  Lecker!

It was a wonderful day for Taylor and our family.  We love watching her develop her talents and find joy as she continues to become a young woman.  We love you, Taylor!

Some Precious gems

Cousin Doug and Melissa went out of town and left their children with us for a night.  We must have had fun because this is what church looked like the next day.

One evening, I received a facebook message from a lady whose name I know as well as my own children---Barbara Whitlock, my mother's childhood best friend. She had been going through some old boxes and found some pictures and memorabilia of my mother.  She asked if she could send them to me.

When I received them, I found so many priceless gems!

It's A Lindsay Halloween!

Another fun Halloween came and went in the Lindsay home.  The weather was pure perfection in Utah at 71 degrees warm!  As a family, we look forward to our traditions each year.  The fun, pre-trick-or-treating party is one of the highlights of the day!  This year, our group was a little smaller (about 35 smaller) due to several families who couldn't make it because of illness, football play off games, and family in town.  We missed them!

My kids were adorable again this year.  We went easy and cheap on our costumes and nobody felt shafted as a result.  Here are the kiddos:

Taylor, Jewel of the Nile

Austin, the Ninja

Jaxson, the hilarious clown

Alyssa, the "scary" pirate!

There were some amazing costumes and family themes this year from our awesome neighbors.  The Jonssons came with bells and whistles with their "China" theme!

The DuJardin twins were adorable little monsters.

Dana (Nacho Libre) and Yolanda (Mother Superior) and their family:

Dana would NOT quit giving us poses all night.  I thought I would die!

Jaxson with baby Ashton

the Lopez family

The Lees

The Hults

The girls

The boys

The Binghams

The Holmes

Oh DEER!  Here is Dave-the-hunter with the deer he killed and mounted in 1999.

Trick-or-treating was a huge success!  The kids had a great time and got way too much candy!

Alyssa went into a sugar coma by the end of the night!
