Doing Dave's Laundry Pays Off....FINALLY!

For the past 3 years, I have been collecting the change out his pant pockets and keeping it in a little container.  The other night, we rolled it and guess how much?

$119.00

PS-  Anyone want the job? ;)

Football at PGHS

This football season has been a little discouraging (we are 0-5) but we are certainly learning a lot about never giving up, giving your best and the power of the positive coaching!  Yay for our hot coach (Dave)!  Last week after our 4th loss, he received multiple emails and texts from parents expressing they know he has been dealt a small (both in size and number) group of unusual kids and how grateful they are for the way he has treated their athlete.

We have the greatest time supporting our dad and Austin!

Seven Peaks Passes: already a success!

The kids and I decided it was time to test out our Seven Peaks passes at Trafalga.  Accompanying us were three of the kids' friends so I had a suburban loaded with kids- 7 to be exact!

And we had a BLAST!  There weren't many people there at all, so we rarely had to wait in line for any ride or even laser tag.  Alyssa and I went on several rides together while the kids played against each other.

Sometimes Jaxson makes me feel so good about my parenting skills......

Taylor and Olivia hit the race cars.  Taylor was nervous.  My favorite part was when she hit the man in front of her because she couldn't remember how to brake.  I'll remember that when she is about 16 years old....

 ZOOM!

 The Rock Wall
This was one of my favorite things to watch my kids on. Jax, Austin and Alyssa were  fearless.

 Golfing with the kids
Alyssa, Austin, Rees and I enjoyed a round of miniature golf.  Rees killed us.  Alyssa was a pill, but a cute one. Austin just wanted to hit as well as his buddy Rees.

 Our Group of Friends

My favorite part of the night was the gratitude each child expressed over and over to me for taking the to Trafalga!  Seriously, I came home tired but on a high.  I'm grateful for the great influence of friends on my children.  Seven Peaks passes:  already a success!

One of my life's greatest gifts.....

....has been that of solid friends.

Someone posted this quote on Facebook recently and my mind became instantly flooded with names and faces of sooooo many people who fit this beautiful saying.  I have felt that my life has been filled with so many kindred spirits who have had and continue to have a wonderful influence on me.  From my roots in Chesterfield to my time at Ricks College, then BYU, a mission to Switzerland, living at Carriage Cove, moving from the Provo scene, working and interacting with students and families from my career, meeting Dave, instant new family, and living in American Fork and now in Cedar Hills, my life continues to move forward completely impacted by many friends.

Yet there are just a simply few who fit this description.  They know who they are.

YOU know who you are.

I love you guys dearly.

Austin's Football Fans

2012 Football Season Kicks Off!

Surrounded by alpine beauty, Austin played his second football game over the weekend. It was the first cool day in a very long time, quite appropriate for September 1st.  The boys played hard, coached by the hunky Dave Lindsay.  We didn't come out on top but there were lessons learned along the way.

 Our beautiful boy!

Austin's fans- Poppie and Grandma Barbie!

And Austin's 2nd biggest fans:  Aunt Nicole and Uncle Jeff!  Love you guys and thanks for the support!

Lindsay Kids' Sleepover

The kids wanted a late night when Dave and I wanted to watch a movie so....compromise!  We brought our little TV/DVD player into the girls' room for a night.  Our kids are so creative and found a way so all could be comfortable.
And they lasted all night.
